Metcalfe Embossed Check Leather Bifold Wallet

A compact portrait bifold in genuine leather that folds once down a single vertical centre, so it stands upright in the hand instead of lying long and flat. The square check is pressed into one piece of leather and divided by pressed grooves, tone on tone with no contrast colour anywhere, so the pattern reads as texture rather than print. RFID blocking is built in, so contactless cards cannot be scanned while they are inside.

Across the foot of both faces the check stops at a plain leather band, held by one straight row of topstitch. On the front face only, a short woven tab in green, red and green sits above that band. It is the only colour on the wallet.

Inside

• Three upright card slots. A stepped stack on the left leaf with the mouths running vertically and facing the centre fold, so cards stand on their long edge.
• Full height slip pocket. Behind the card stack, open along the leaf's outer edge, for folded notes, receipts or a travel pass.
• Zipped coin compartment. One vertical welted zip on the right leaf with a nickel slider and a small leather pull.
• Leather lining throughout. Smooth, no fabric and no contrast panel. No ID window.

Outside

• Wrap over strap. A rounded leather strap comes in from the opening edge and crosses just past halfway, edge stitched along both long edges and round its tip.
• Anchored at the back. The strap base is a short rounded leather lug held against the back panel by a wide zigzag bar tack.
• Turned edges, rounded corners. Every edge is folded and stitched with a single row and all four corners are generously rounded.
• No outside metal, no branding. The coin zip is the only hardware in the wallet, and nothing is printed, stamped, embossed or plated anywhere.

Colours

Black and tan. The tan is made in batches that differ slightly in stitch thread shade, so the thread may not exactly match the photographs.
