Newland Zip Around Long Leather Purse

The Newland is the long one. Where the rest of the Just Pack range folds a note in half, this purse takes it flat, and it shuts twice over for the trouble. RFID blocking is built in, so contactless cards cannot be scanned while they are inside.

It fastens twice

A tone matched metal zip runs down one long side and turns along the whole bottom edge, passing under the tab and carrying on past it. The top edge stays a plain folded and stitched leather edge with no zip. Over the zip sits a wide leather tab with a rounded end, stitched into the zipped side and closing on a domed antique brass press stud. The tab sits on the right hand side of the front only, so the face stays quiet: the line that crosses the rest of it is a single horizontal panel seam in a fine tonal stitch.

Inside

• Five card slots, stacked one above another and topstitched across the lining panel
• A large clear ID window, set directly below the lowest card slot
• Two note sections, one either side of a central divider, with triangular gussets at each end
• Woven fabric lining throughout, rather than leather

Worth knowing before you buy: there is no coin pocket in this purse and no internal zip of any kind. The outer zip is the only zip on the piece. And because that zip runs on two sides rather than all four, the Newland does not lie flat when you open it. It opens like a clam, into a deep gusseted body.

Leather, stitch and brass

Genuine leather, with a fine, irregular natural pebble grain and a low satin sheen. Tonal single row stitching. Every edge folded and stitched, never left raw or painted. The back is entirely plain apart from the panel seam. The press stud, the slider and its long flat metal tongue pull are all antique brass in finish, and the flat brass nameplate reading Just Pack over ACCESSORIES sits flush on the lower front panel with no rivets showing.

Two colourways

Black, where the zip tape, the teeth and the stitching are black too. Dark Brown, where the tape, the coil and the thread are all brown to match the leather.
